Conference Banquet & Dance

---

A conference retrospective is in process - the following has been retained for reference.

As is tradition, the Conference includes a Saturday night Banquet & Dance from 7pm - 11pm. It's a lot of fun. The food is good and the entertainment is great. This is a chance for conference participants to relax and mix it up among themselves and the presenters.

We are excited to announce that Saturday evening's keynote speaker will be World-famous National Geographic underwater photographer Flip Nicklin! Don't miss this opportunity to see spectacular footage and hear stories of his work with National Geographic and the last ten years of humpback research in Hawaii.

Tickets to the Banquet are NOT included in the basic registration fee in order to keep the conference price as low as possible and also to provide as many options as possible.

Conference participants may purchase tickets to the banquet for guests as well as for themselves. Tickets are $60/per person, and must be obtained in advance. Tickets to the Saturday night Banquet must be purchased ahead of time to allow for food planning and preparation. You may select your choice of entree at the time you register. The options are chicken, seafood, or vegetarian. If you don't wish to indicate a choice, chicken is the default. The webmaster thinks this is a funny play on words.

Banquet Menu

All dinners come with the following:

  • rolls and butter
  • garden salad
  • chef's choice of vegetable
  • entree
  • coffee or iced tea
  • white chocolate mousse cake

The Entree choices are:

  • Chicken Piccata
lightly floured and sauteéd breast of chicken
    served over rice pilaf
with a white wine lemon butter sauce

  • Shrimp in a butter/garlic sauce
    service over rice pilaf

  • Kabocha Ravioli
a blend of Japanese pumpkin, sweet potato and mascarpone cheese
in large raviolis, tossed with a sage cream sauce,
    diced tomaties, toasted pecans

The Dance after the Banquet is open to all conference participants.

Banquet starts at 7 pm.

The doors will open for the dance at approximately 9 pm.
