| American Cetacean Society Culture of Whales - Oct. 2002 Special Presentations |
The following is an excerpt from the October 2002 conference program
THE CITY CANTABILE CHOIR The City Cantabile Choir began almost two decades ago with the goal of creating a vehicle for people from all walks of life to celebrate their love of music and to incorporate music into their lives as an essential element of expression. The choir has grown in breath to encompass the important issue of the times: from environmental awareness to social justice and racial equality. It is also a choir where people can open their hearts and minds to diverse cultures of the world and go out into the community to discover that one way to begin to understand people of a different culture is to understand and sing their music. editor's note - the City Cantabile Choir has performed OrcaSing for the whales each summer solstice for several years. See the OrcaSing page on the American Cetacean Society Puget Sound chapter's site for photos. |
